Magno Corpore

Our
Gran Malbec

Magno Corpore is our grand Malbec. And, it is grand in every sense of the word. No detail has been overlooked. Malbec grapes are carefully hand selected from our finest parcels where the terroir can best express itself. A tiered aging process is utilized in order to find the right balance of oak. The outcome is a subtle, elegant and balanced wine.

Grapes: Las Compuertas, Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza
Altitude: 1070 meters above sea level
Irrigation: Drip
Varietal Composition: 100% Malbec
Production: 95% of the blend ages in cement egg tanks and the other 5% in ceramic vessels.

Vinification

Looking only to our finest parcels planted on premium rocky soil, the grapes that are selected for this wine are manually harvested. A cold maceration, at 44.6 °F, takes place for six days, followed by a malolactic fermentation at 82.4°F, where optimal movement of the wine occurs to give the wine its full-bodied depth. A post-fermentation maceration follows whereby the temperature is maintained at 84.4°F in order to optimize its aromatic potential.

Tasting Notes

This unique wine produces an intense red color with blue and black tones. It offers a complex aroma reminiscent of fruits, such as plum and blackberry, and coffee. The round tannins are savored in the mouth. The combination of the oak and the characteristics exclusive to the Argentine Malbec offer this powerful and elegant wine.
